    It is challenging for me to select a single ancestor since I hold them all in high regard. While we each face our own struggles today, I believe our ancestors endured significantly tougher lives in the past. The daily chores—cleaning, washing, and shopping—were significantly harder. The family laundry was a full day’s job, and drying clothes in winter was a nightmare, especially when now we simply pop them into our tumble dryer, and it’s done.     All updated information can be found on my Ancestry family tree. I have always filed in family groups (Husband and Wife) in alphabetical order, but sometimes I find myself buried with files trying to link information back to the family as a group.   • Marriage of Aubrey Joseph Gannon and Ruth Stirzaker
    The wedding of Joe and Ruth took place at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lea, Lancashire, on 9th February 1937 at 2 o’clock. Amoung the invited guests were my nan and grandad, and I am lucky enough to still have the original invitation that was sent to them. (I keep checking newspaper records online to see if the marriage was ever reported in the local newspapers, but as yet I have had no luck. I would love to know the colour of the dresses and the flowers.)     Another quick update, but not much has happened this month as I have had a lot going on with my family.     Just a quick update as my tree continues to grow …… People 1951 Marriages 490 Generations 9 Surnames 412 Places 291 Earliest birth date 1758 – James Addison Having recently moved from Family Historian to Family Tree Maker, my tree has grown very slowly this month. This is mainly due to checking all my information that has already been gathered. I am giving it a dust off to ensure its correct.
